Reception of the Holy Icon and the Holy Relic of Agios Gervasios in Pyrgiotika, Argolistranslated

With particular splendor, the parish of the Holy Church of Agios Georgios Pyrgiotikas, outside Nafplio, welcomed on Friday, July 3, 2026, the holy icon and piece of the Holy Relic of Agios Gervasios, which were brought by the Holy Pilgrimage of Agios Gervasios in Achaia. The holy icon and the holy Relic were welcomed by the Preacher of the Holy Metropolis of Argolis, Archimandrite Chrysostomos Papoulesis, in the presence of clergy and a large number of believers.

This was followed by a Holy Vigil in honor of Saint Gervasios, minister of Hieromonk Father Gennadi Vatopaidinos from Mount Athos, who also preached the divine word.

The new vicar of the church, Fr. Vasilios Korolis, expressed his immense joy and gratitude to God, as the parish of the Holy Church of Agios Georgios Pyrgiotikas was entitled to honor the newly appointed Agios Gervasios, the holy shepherd of Patras. As he pointed out, the Saint, with his holy life, humility and paternal love, left an indelible mark on the life of the Church.
