Consecration at the Offices of the I. Metropolis of Nafpaktos for the beginning of the Indictustranslated

On Tuesday, September 1, 2026, the beginning of the Indictus and the beginning of the new Ecclesiastical year, a consecration took place in the Offices of the Holy Metropolis of Nafpaktos and Agios Vlasios, by the Metropolitan of Nafpaktos and Agios Vlasios, Mr. Ierotheos. His Eminence, addressing the Priests and lay people working in the Offices, wished them health, inspiration in the work they do, cooperation with like-mindedness and love and to perform their duties with kindness and willingness. He said that Saint Kallinikos, Metropolitan of Edessa, wanted everyone who came to the Offices for any reason and with any mood, leaving to benefit, either from good service or from an encouraging and spiritual word.

Finally, he thanked everyone for their work and their contribution, given that, apart from the lay secretary of the Holy Metropolis, all the others, priests and lay people, work voluntarily in the Offices, as the Holy Metropolis cannot respond to a stipend.

We wish the new Church Year to be peaceful and inspiring.

Mulțumesc pentru știre. Mi-a plăcut mult ce a spus despre sfântul Callinic, că oricine intră pe ușă să plece cu un folos, fie din politețea cu care e servit, fie dintr-un cuvânt bun. Așa ar trebui să fie peste tot în biserică. La mulți ani tuturor celor care lucrează acolo, și cu plată și voluntar.

Áno, ten príklad svätého Kallinika je veľmi pekný. Človek príde vybaviť si niečo a odíde povzbudený – to by naozaj malo platiť v každom kostole aj úrade. Ďakujem za správu, nech je nový cirkevný rok pokojný aj pre všetkých dobrovoľníkov v Naupakte.

Спасибо за новость. Особенно запомнилось про святого Каллиника — чтобы каждый, кто зашёл в офис, уходил с пользой, хоть от вежливого приёма, хоть от доброго слова. У нас в Нью-Йорке тоже многие в храме и в канцелярии на чистом энтузиазме, без зарплаты, поэтому понимаю, как это важно. С новым церковным годом всех!

The part about St. Kallinikos really stuck with me too—anyone walking into those offices should leave feeling helped, whether it's from a kind word or just decent service. Makes sense for a church office. Our volunteer crew at the cathedral here in San Francisco does the same thing, no pay, just showing up because they want to.

Добре, що владика згадав святого Каллініка — щоб кожен, хто зайде до канцелярії, вийшов з користю. У нас в Харкові в єпархіальному управлінні теж багато хто працює добровільно, без жодної платні, і це відчувається. Нехай новий церковний рік дасть всім сили.
