The "extractions" of the Holy Icon of Panagia Faneromeni in Nea Michanionatranslated

On the afternoon of August 13, in the surrounding church of Panagia Faneromeni in Nea Michaniona, the "Excretions" of the holy and miraculous icon of Panagia Faneromeni were performed with enthusiasm and splendor. The Vespers and the Prayer were officiated, following the invitation of the relevant Pastor, Metropolitan of Nea Krini and Kalamaria, Mr. Ioustinos, by the Most Reverend Metropolitan of Neapolis and Stavroupolis, Mr. Varnavas.

After the completion of the Vespers and the Holy Prayer, the Bishop of Eastern Thessaloniki welcomed with warm words the High Priest of the Thessaloniki Vespers, in the Palladium of Theotokos in Nea Michaniona, Thessaloniki.

Afterwards, he referred to the close spiritual ties of the visiting Hierarch with the holy Pilgrimage and the miraculous Icon of Phaneromeni, the reverence of the Thessalonians and all Macedonians towards Her, briefly, he referred to the importance of the existence of the miraculous Icon, within the bays of the local Church, characterizing Nea Michaniona as the spiritual seat of the Metropolis and thanked warmly to Saint Neapolis for accepting his invitation.

Thanks for sharing. It is interesting that Vladika Barnabas is so closely associated with this icon. How often is “Βγάσματα” performed during the year, only on the Assumption or more often?
