Prayer service for students in the cathedraltranslated

With the blessing of His Eminence Vincent, Bishop of Tara and Tyukalinsk, a prayer service was held in the Spassky Cathedral for the granting of God's help to children in their studies.

The service was performed by the secretary of the Diocesan Council and the keymaster of the cathedral, Archimandrite Thaddeus (Cherednichenko).

At the end of the prayer service, Father Thaddeus addressed the worshipers with pastoral instructions, blessed the children and sprinkled them with holy water, calling upon the students God’s blessing in their upcoming educational work.

We congratulate you, dear teachers and students, on a special holiday that unites children and adults, teachers and educators, schoolchildren and students - the Day of Knowledge and the beginning of the new academic year.

School and student years can rightfully be called the best period of a person’s life, since this is the time of youth, the time of formation and intensive development of personality, the time of acquiring basic knowledge necessary for subsequent professional and creative activities.

At the same time, in this bright time, a young man must cultivate hard work and determination, learn to overcome laziness and other moral ailments. Before the boys and girls stands...

Хорошо, что молебен именно в Спасском соборе провели и отец Фаддей сам детей окропил. У нас в Воронеже тоже такие молебны перед учебой бывают, сын в прошлом году ходил — говорит, спокойнее потом на уроках. А про «преодолеть леность» — это точно в точку, с этим у подростков вечная борьба.

In St. Petersburg, we also have prayer services before school, my grandchildren went a couple of times - they say it’s really easier to sit down for homework later. And with laziness they have exactly the same story, I always tell them: “Start small, even lay out your notebook, and then things will go from there.”
