Metropolitan Teofan blessed the Iași Penitentiary Chapeltranslated

Metropolitan Teofan of Moldova and Bucovina consecrated on Tuesday the "Saints Peter and Paul" Chapel of the Iași Penitentiary.
The service was attended by the director of the prison, chief commissioner of prison police Marius Adrian Cernat, father Cristian Antonescu, coordinator of prison priests from the Romanian Patriarchate, archpriest Florin Călugăru, father Gheorghe Șurpănelu from the "Eternity" Cemetery in Iasi, prison priests from the region of Moldova and representatives of the National Administration of Penitentiaries.
The space was set up with the help of the penitentiary administration, in response to the need for a prayer space, both for people deprived of their freedom and for the penitentiary staff.
His Holiness Father Teofan drew attention to addictions, which can deprive those outside the penitentiary of their true freedom.
