Metropolitan Longin celebrated the Baptismal Liturgytranslated
On September 5, on the day of the feast of the Dormition of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Metropolitan Longin of Simbirsk and Novospassky celebrated the Baptismal Liturgy at the Resurrection-Germanovsky Church in Ulyanovsk.
Concelebrating with His Eminence were the sacristan of the church, Archpriest Ilya Kuznetsov, Archpriest Sergius Plekhov, Hegumen Seraphim (Lyakhov), Priest Alexy Volkov, Deacon John Kosyakov, Deacon Grigory Shevchenko, and Deacon Alexy Bychkov.
During the Liturgy in the baptistery of the church, Metropolitan Longin baptized eight people who had undergone catechetical conversations in the city’s churches.
At the end of the service, Vladyka congratulated the newly baptized, presented them with certificates of Baptism and gifts from the Simbirsk diocese.
