“Summer Kazan”: a conciliar bishop’s service was held at the revered shrine of the Simbirsk Metropolistranslated

July 21, the day of the celebration of the appearance of the icon of the Most Holy Theotokos in the city of Kazan, is one of the main holidays of the Simbirsk Metropolis and the Mother of God of Kazan Zhadovsky Monastery in the village of Samorodki. Here is one of the main shrines of the Simbirsk region - the Kazan Zhadovsky Image of the Mother of God. The icon was miraculously found in the 17th century at a spring in the village of Zhadovka, where a monastery, the Zhadovskaya Kazan Hermitage, was soon founded in honor of the Mother of God. For many centuries, many healings were performed at this shrine. It was considered lost during the years of the atheism, after the destruction of the monastery, but was rediscovered and transferred to the revived monastery in 1997.

On the “summer of Kazan” in the Zhadovsky Monastery, a conciliar service of the bishops of the Simbirsk Metropolis took place. The Divine Liturgy in the church in honor of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God was performed by Metropolitan Longin of Simbirsk and Novospassky, Bishop of Melekess and Cherdaklinsky Diodorus, Bishop of Barysh and Inzensky Alexander.
