Καλή η ιστορία, αλλά ας είμαστε ειλικρινείς: στη δική μας ενορία εδώ στον Βόλο, αν ο παπάς δεν μπορεί να σταθεί όρθιος στον άμβωνα και να λειτουργήσει χωρίς βοήθεια, θα δυσκολευτούμε πολύ. Το αναπηρικό καροτσάκι είναι μια πραγματικότητα, όμως η Λειτουργία θέλει συγκεκριμένες κινήσεις. Έχει σκεφτεί κανείς πώς θα γίνεται αυτό στην πράξη;

În parohia noastră din Chișinău am avut un diacon care folosea cârje după un accident. La început ne-am cam codit, dar când l-am văzut cum slujește cu calm și cu acea bucurie simplă, ne-am obișnuit repede. Poate că nu toate mișcările Liturghiei ies la fel, dar cred că Dumnezeu vede inima omului mai mult decât picioarele. Ce ziceți, ar fi loc de așa ceva și la noi?

Our parish in Boston had a visiting priest a few years back who used a walker after hip surgery. At first it felt a little awkward watching him navigate the steps to the altar, but once he started chanting with that steady, calm voice it stopped mattering. The Liturgy still happened, just with a bit more patience from all of us. Makes you wonder if we’re overthinking what “prepared” really means.
