Christians of the Russian Orthodox Church named prayers, the reading of which threatens spiritual regressiontranslated

When choosing a prayer book, believers should check the origin of the texts published in it and the presence of approval from the Russian Orthodox Church. This was reported by the MediaPotok news agency with reference to priest Evgeny Podvysotsky. According to him, among the prayers available in print and on the Internet, there are texts composed by unknown authors with serious doctrinal errors.

Orthodox prayers with requests for health, family, children or work in most cases were created by holy people who had rich spiritual experience. They appeared in response to the various needs of parishioners. The authorship of authentic church texts is usually known.

One of the guidelines when purchasing a printed prayer book can be the special stamp of the Publishing Council of the Russian Orthodox Church. Podvysotsky recommends choosing books marked “Recommended for publication by the Publishing Council of the Russian Orthodox Church” or “Approved for publication.” Their presence indicates that the publication contains no prayers that contradict Christian commandments.

When searching for prayers on the Internet, the priest advises to evaluate the content of the text especially carefully. Poor quality...
