Houston Pastor Seeks Christian Women To Lead International Movement in Response To SBC Vote Against Women

Organization is recruiting female chapter leaders to build local communities where women can develop their voices, strengthen families and turn faith into meaningful action

HOUSTON, Texas — In direct response to the Southern Baptist Convention’s recent vote to further restrict women from pastoral leadership and preaching, Mission Driven Church today announced the international expansion of Mission Driven Sisters, a Christian leadership movement created to equip women to use their God-given voices, lead with courage and create meaningful change in their communities.

Oh my God, as if the response to the SBC vote is to form a new international movement. I understand that some women feel upset, but church is not a place to "develop voices" in this way. The most important thing is that we raise our families in peace and pray together, not organize international classes.

Yes Fadi, I am completely with you. In Zahle, women bake blessings for Eid and pray quietly with the sick, and this leaves a deeper impact than any campaign. Rania, have you tried praying with a patient before giving her a talk about rights?
