I always appreciate books that warn about the dangers of misunderstanding obedience. This one sounds like it sticks close to St. Ignatius Brianchaninov, which is exactly what I need when things get confusing in spiritual life. The price is fair too – 300 denars for 264 pages is decent these days.

A good book, judging by the description. It is especially important that the author relies on Ignatius Brianchaninov and warns about the dangers of incorrect obedience - at one time this made my head spin. The translation was done by Father Dimitar Petreski, it’s interesting how he managed to convey this strict, sober tone. For 300 denars, 264 pages are quite normal, I’ll take it for myself.

I like how the book leans on St. Ignatius Brianchaninov for the part about discernment, because that’s where I’ve seen people get tripped up the most. The 264 pages for 300 denars seems like a solid deal, especially if Fr. Dimitar Petreski’s translation keeps the warnings about fake obedience clear. Might pick up a copy next time I’m at the church bookstore.
