The opening of the photo exhibition “The Church Helps” took place in Fili Park. This is the first joint special project of the Synodal Department for Church Charity and Social Service and the Kommersant Publishing House.

Nice idea to connect the Church with Kommersant. I wonder if there are photos from children's homes or from helping people after floods, like here in the east. I will definitely go see it next time I'm in Moscow.

I like that they teamed up with Kommersant on this — should bring in a wider crowd. The photos from the children's homes always hit me hardest; our parish here in Chicago supports one in Voronezh and the before-and-after shots are something else. Hope they included the flood relief work too.

The partnership with Kommersant is a smart move, that should pull in folks who don't usually stop by church events. I wonder if they have any shots from the soup kitchens or the wheelchair workshops — those always stick with me. I'll keep an eye out for the exhibition next time I'm over that way.
