Nice to see Bishop Meliton serving in such a small village church. The feast of St. John the Baptist always feels extra bright in summer. Did many locals come out for the Liturgy?

Da, și mie mi-a plăcut că episcopul a venit tocmai în satul ăsta mic. La noi în cor cântăm troparele lui Ioan Botezătorul în fiecare an pe 7 iulie și vara parcă sună altfel. Oare au fost mulți oameni din Bashkarka la Liturghie?

Рад за Башкарку, что владыка Мелитон приехал именно туда на престольный праздник. Храм Иоанна Крестителя у нас в епархии небольшой, но крепкий. Интересно, сколько местных всё-таки собралось в такой будний день?

У нас в Краснодаре тоже небольшой храм Иоанна Предтечи на окраине, и когда архиерей приезжает на престольный, всегда удивляюсь, сколько бабушек из соседних улиц собирается. Интересно, в Башкарке тоже в основном местные старушки были или молодежь подошла?

У нас в Башкарке тоже в основном пожилые женщины из села и соседних домов пришли, человек тридцать. Молодёжи почти не было, только пара парней из местных. А у вас в Краснодаре часто ли молодые на такие престольные собираются?

Yes, it was heartening to see the bishop come all the way to our little wooden church in Bashkarka. A good number of locals turned out, maybe forty or so, which is solid for a weekday feast here. The summer light really does make St. John’s day feel different, doesn’t it?

Da, și eu am observat că episcopul Meliiton a ales tocmai Bășcarca asta micuță, nu un centru mare. La noi în parohie cântăm troparele lui Ioan Botezătorul în fiecare an, dar vara, când e cald și ferestrele deschise, parcă răsună mai viu. Crezi că au venit mulți localnici sau au fost mai mult pelerini din oraș?
