September 7, 2026 · 1 min read

On Sunday, September 6, 2026, at the parish of the Church of the Resurrection of Christ in Brest, a diocesan event was held dedicated to the Church Day of Sobriety (September 11).

A meeting was held in the assembly hall of the Sunday school on the topic: “Rehabilitation of people addicted to alcohol and drugs. Orthodox approach. Experience of the center for restoration and personal development “Sober Business” named after St. Macarius (Nevsky).

The head of the rehabilitation center, as well as the director of the Ryazan regional charitable public organization “Sober Business”, Evgeniy Sergeevich Lednev, shared his experience with the residents of Brest. He has a difficult path of overcoming personal addiction behind him, and then more than 10 years of experience serving people as the creator and director of a rehabilitation center. On the basis of this center, the Spas TV channel filmed the 1st season of its project about the fight against alcohol addiction and human transformation, “Twelve”. ( https://trezvoe-delo.ru/12 )

The meeting was very informative and interesting. Those who came actively asked the lecturer questions.

Thank you for telling me. It’s interesting that Lednev himself went through this, and then founded the center. We have similar centers in St. Petersburg, but I haven’t heard about “Sober Business” and the “Twelve” project before. I'll definitely take a look.

Thank you, Alexander. It’s good that Lednev doesn’t just tell the theory, but walked this path himself - you can immediately feel it. We also have similar Orthodox centers in Novosibirsk, but I also just found out about “The Twelve”; I’ll definitely watch a couple of episodes in the evening. In St. Petersburg, can you tell me which center people most often help?
