Ecumenical Patriarchate announces new composition of Holy and Sacred Synod

The Ecumenical Patriarchate has announced the regular reconstitution of the Holy and Sacred Synod, according to an official statement issued on September 1, 2026.

The new composition of the Synod will serve a six-month term, from September 1, 2026, through February 28, 2027, under the presidency of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew.

The following hierarchs will serve as members of the Holy and Sacred Synod:

Metropolitan Joseph of Proikonnesos

Metropolitan Meliton of Philadelphia

Metropolitan Seraphim of Sebasteia

Metropolitan Irenaios of Myriophytos and Peristasis

Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Myra

Metropolitan Kyrillos of Krini

Metropolitan Joseph of Buenos Aires

Metropolitan Myron of New Zealand

Metropolitan Constantine of Denver

Metropolitan Gregory of Ankara

Metropolitan Titos of Kydonia and Apokoronos

Metropolitan Joachim of Lampi, Syvritos and Sfakia

The new composition took effect on September 1 and will remain in place until the end of February 2027.

Цікаво, що цього разу до Синоду увійшли митрополит Йосиф з Буенос-Айреса і митрополит Мирон з Нової Зеландії. Це ж майже з протилежних кінців світу. Буду молитися, щоб їхня спільна робота була мирною і плідною до лютого.

Interesant că l-au inclus pe mitropolitul Iosif de la Buenos Aires și pe mitropolitul Miron din Noua Zeelandă, chiar de la capetele opuse ale lumii. O să mă rog și eu să lucreze bine împreună până în februarie. Slavă Domnului că Biserica unește așa distanțe.

نعم، لاحظت أيضاً أن متروبوليت يوسف من بوينس آيرس ومتروبوليت ميرو من نيوزيلندا صاروا مع بعض في السينود. غريب شوي يجتمعوا هيك من طرفي العالم، بس هيك هي الكنيسة. رح أذكرهم في صلاتي هالأيام.

Interesant punctul tău cu Buenos Aires și Noua Zeelandă, chiar sunt la distanțe mari. Eu l-am cunoscut pe mitropolitul Iosif acum câțiva ani la o slujbă în Grecia și mi s-a părut om echilibrat. Să vedem cum merge treaba până în februarie, sper să iasă bine.
