Patriarch Kirill of Moscow consecrated the Church of the Icon of the Mother of God "Life-Giving Spring" at the Valaam Monastery of the Transfiguration of the Savior during his visit to the island monastery on Lake Ladoga. The newly consecrated church stands on the northern side of the outer quadrangle of the monastery's central compound. The Assembly of Canonical Orthodox Bishops of the United States has appointed Sunday, July 26, 2026, as Prison Ministry Awareness Sunday, with hundreds of parishes across the jurisdictions joining to speak about ministry to those in prison. Orthodox Christian Prison Ministry, now nearing three decades of work, reunites incarcerated parents with their children through its Storybook Connections program, which sends picture books home together with recordings of a parent reading them, and its Clergy Corps fosters a nationwide brotherhood of priests and deacons committed to visiting prison facilities near them. Pope and Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and All Africa officiated the reopening of the fully restored Church of the Presentation of the Lord in Tanta, a church that has served the Greek community in the heart of the Nile Delta since the nineteenth century. In Accra, Ghana, Metropolitan Daniel presided over a joint gathering of the clergy of the Metropolis and members of the Orthodox Youth Association of Ghana, held after the Matins service at the Cathedral of the Transfiguration of Our Savior. The 19th meeting of the Anglican Consultative Council concluded in Belfast with members from thirty-seven provinces in attendance. The Council chose not to adopt proposed structural changes to the role of the Archbishop of Canterbury, voting seventy-two to eight for a resolution that calls for three more years of discernment and conversation on questions of Anglican identity. Екатерина ЗайцеваХорошо, что в Гане молодёжь после утрени собирают вместе с духовенством, это дело нужное. А про Валамскую новую церковь "Живоносный Источник" порадовалась — давно там не была, интересно, как она в квадранге смотрится.
