September 4, 2026 · 1 min read

On September 1, the clergy of the Myronositsky Church in the city of Istra - Archpriest Alexander Varenikov, Priest Pavel Katkov and Priest Maxim Saryev, took part in ceremonial events dedicated to the Day of Knowledge and the beginning of the school year in the educational institutions of the city cared for by the parish. Lines for students of different classes were held in the main building of school No. 2 and in the new building in the Vostochny microdistrict, as well as in the Lyceum of the city of Istra. The priests addressed parting words to the students, teachers and parents, wishing everyone patience, strength, mutual understanding and God's help in the upcoming studies.

Good to see Fr. Alexander, Fr. Pavel, and Fr. Maxim out there at School No. 2, the new Eastern district building, and the Lyceum. My oldest starts second grade this year and those first-day words about patience and God's help always stick with her. Nice that they hit all three spots.

Our kids go to the new Eastern district building, so it was good to spot Fr. Maxim there on the first-day lineup. My daughter remembered his line about needing patience most of all when the homework piles up. Nice they covered all three schools this year.

That's great your daughter picked up on the patience part — my older girl said the same thing after last year's talk. We live near the Eastern district too, so it's nice knowing Fr. Maxim made it to their lineup again. Did your younger one start at the new building this year?
