Day of Family, Love and Fidelity in Furmanovtranslated

On July 8, the feast of the holy noble princes Peter and Fevronia of Murom, celebrated as the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity, festive events took place in the city of Furmanov. A Family Parade took place across the city. The celebrations continued in the Central Palace of Culture, where the head of the Furmanovsky municipal district Alexey Utkin, the dean of the Furmanovsky district Archpriest Vladimir Kozlov, as well as the expert of the public relations department, coordinator of work with the families of participants in the Special Military Operation Svetlana Samarina addressed the audience with welcoming speeches. The dean congratulated all those gathered on the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity and the Day of Remembrance of Saints Peter and Fevronia of Murom, who set an example of an ideal married life, Christian love and devotion.

After the welcoming words, couples who had been married for more than 25, 30, 35, 40 and 50 years were honored and awarded. Diplomas from the dean “For promoting and strengthening the prestige and role of the family in society, preserving family and moral values, principles of love and fidelity,” as well as the icon of the blessed Prince Peter and Princess Fevronia of Murom, were presented to married couples by Archpriest Vladimir Kozlov.…

Nice to see those long-married couples getting recognized with the icons and certificates. Father Vladimir’s words about Peter and Fevronia as a real example hit home. Our choir sang at a similar event last year and it was good to hear the stories from the 50-year pairs.
