On the evening of September 21, 2026, in honor of the eve of the feast day of Righteous Fathers Joachim and Anne, Archbishop John, Archbishop of Brest and Kobrin, and Metropolitan of Chernigov, Feodosius, celebrated Vespers with the chanting of the Akathist to the Nativity of the Theotokos in the cathedral church of St. Simon the Tanner in Brest in the presence of the cathedral clergy.

After the reading of the Gospel, His Eminence addressed the worshippers with a word of exhortation.

Last night I was just thinking about Joachim and Anna when I was baking a cake for the choir. It’s nice that Bishop John himself read the akathist; his voice can always be heard clearly in the cathedral. Thanks for the photo report, I'll take a look after the shift.
