On the evening of September 28, 2026, in the eve of the feast day of the Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos "Have Mercy on Our Lowliness," Archbishop of Brest and Kobrin Ioann celebrated Vespers with the service of reading an akathist before the Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos "Have Mercy on Our Lowliness" in the cathedral church of St. Simon the Pillar-Wearer in the city of Brest, in the presence of the cathedral clergy.

After the reading of the Gospel, Archbishop Ioann addressed the worshippers with a word of exhortation.

Thank you for the information. This year, on September 28, I will be in Brest at my sister's, so maybe I will be able to meet this akaphist in front of the "Priźri na smirenije" icon. Archbishop Jan always has very specific, life-like sermons, I'm happy to listen.
