Hierarchical liturgy, litany procession and water lighting at the Iskretsky monastir “Assumption of the Theotokos”translated

On the 1st october of the Orthodox Church, the feast of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary is the day, in which the people prayerfully ask the heavenly one to shout at God's Mike. The holiday was celebrated solemnly in the “Assumption of the Mother of God” manastir, located on the edge of the village of Iskrets in the Godechka spiritual region. The monastery has a centuries-old history, dating back to the 13th century, which was destroyed by Ottoman slavery and was restored in 1834.

With the blessing of Negovo, His Grace Metropolitan of Sofia and Bulgarian Patriarch Daniel served St. Liturgy, headed by Negovo His Eminence Bishop Isaac of Velbzhda - second vicar of the Metropolitan of Sofia. The children from the Iskrets school singing as they welcomed Bishop Isaac with flowers sounds so lovely. I’ve always thought the Pokrov feast feels especially warm when there are kids involved. Thank you for the report.

I too once went to a service with children singing at the entrance of the bishop, as if he was at the monastery near us. Here, with the flowers and the voices of the students from "St. Ivan Rilski" in Iskrets, it must have been really beautiful. Thanks for the news, glad the old monastery from 1834 is still alive.

Thanks for this story. You can imagine it very well when the children from "St. Ivan Rilski" school met Bishop Isaac with flowers and songs. In Telavi, we often have to walk this route to the monastery, but the sound of children always makes it special.
