Archbishop Stefan took part in the XXVII Congress of the Belarusian Red Crosstranslated

On September 8, 2026, the XXVII Congress of the Belarusian Red Cross took place in Minsk. The forum brought together delegates from all over the country, representatives of government agencies, international organizations and the clergy.
The congress was also attended by His Eminence Benjamin, Metropolitan of Minsk and Zaslavsky, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus, and His Eminence Stefan, Archbishop of Gomel and Zhlobin.
Participants of the congress summed up the activities of the Belarusian Red Cross over the past five years, discussed updating the organization’s mission and changes in the charter. One of the main issues was the development strategy for 2027-2031.
The cooperation of the Belarusian Red Cross with the Belarusian Orthodox Church was also noted. Addressing the participants of the congress, Metropolitan Benjamin drew attention to the importance of mercy in the life of the Church and the need to work together in helping people. According to the Patriarchal Exarch, church participation can complement the large-scale humanitarian projects of the Red Cross, giving them spiritual content.
