Archbishop Thomas concelebrated with His Holiness Patriarch Kirill on the eve and on the day of memory of St. Sergius of Radonezh in the Holy Trinity Sergius Lavratranslated

On July 17, 2026, on the eve of the feast of the discovery of the honorable relics of St. Sergius of Radonezh (1422), His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus' held an all-night vigil on the Cathedral Square of the Holy Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius.

The solemn service was performed in front of the revered icon of St. Sergius.

To celebrate the festive all-night vigil and Divine Liturgy, a platform was built on Cathedral Square, and a throne under the canopy was installed in front of the Dormition Cathedral of the Lavra.

Concelebrating with His Holiness were: Metropolitan Vikenty of Tashkent and Uzbekistan, head of the Central Asian Metropolitan District; Metropolitan of St. Petersburg and Ladoga Barsanuphius; Metropolitan Pavel of Krutitsky and Kolomna, Patriarchal Vicar of the Moscow Metropolis; Metropolitan Veniamin of Minsk and Zaslavsky, Patriarchal Exarch of All Belarus; Metropolitan Gregory of the Resurrection, manager of the affairs of the Moscow Patriarchate, first vicar of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus' for Moscow, abbot of the Novospassky stauropegial monastery; Metropolitan Anthony of Volokolamsk, Chairman of the Department for External Church Relations; Archbishop Thomas of Odintsovo and Krasnogorsk, head of the Administrative Secretariat...

Екатерина СоловьёваArchbishop Thomas also concelebrated; it’s nice to see him in such a row. And the platform on Cathedral Square and the throne under the canopy in front of the Assumption Cathedral - it probably looked very solemn. I wonder how many people were there that evening?
