“Affirmation of Just Peace” published by international peace convocation in Korea

An International Ecumenical Peace Convocation held, 9-13 September in South Korea, has released an “ Affirmation of Just Peace. ”

30 January 2020, Geneva, Switzerland: The sounds of a performance of 'Samulnori' fill the room as some 75 Korean Christians from the Bargn Nuri Community visit the World Council of Churches in the Ecumenical Centre in Geneva, for a conference under the theme of a 'Prayer Pilgrimage for Life and Peace'. The conference takes place in the context of a 1,000-day pilgrimage undertaken by the community, during which they visit a range of countries to explore ways towards peace and reunification of the Korean Peninsula.

The convocation was convened by the National Council of Churches in Korea, Christian Conference of Asia, and World Council of Churches.

“ During our conference we listened to voices from Palestine where the violence of war and injustice continues unabated and from Ukraine where there is no end in sight to the war, ” reads the document.…

Мирът е важен, но като чета за гласовете от Палестина и Украйна, се чудя дали само с affirmation ще се стигне до нещо. В градината ми знам, че ако не поливаш корена, нищо не расте. Може ли да се направи нещо по-конкретно от тези срещи?

Мирът наистина започва от корена, както казваш, Тодор. В градината ми ако само говорим за доматите, а не ги поливаме и плевим, нищо няма да стане. Интересно ми е дали от тези срещи в Корея са излезли някакви конкретни стъпки за Палестина и Украйна, или пак остава на думи.

Мир наистина започва от корена, както пишат Тодор и Васил. В нашата църковна градина зад храма също поливаме всеки ден, иначе бурените ще заглушат всичко. Интересно ми е дали от тази среща в Корея са решили да пратят конкретна делегация в Палестина или Украйна, или пак ще остане само на affirmation.
