Saint Callinique always stood out to me because Gangres is where my wife's great-uncle served as a priest for a while back in the 60s. The way these early martyrs just held firm under pressure makes you think twice about the little complaints we have today. Thanks for posting the old and new dates side by side, it's helpful.

Agios Kallinikos from Gangra always made an impression on me. Nicholas's wife's father had served as a priest there in the 60s, he says; I remember when the football team and I went on a pilgrimage to the parts of Paphlagonia years ago and passed through there. These witnesses were not grumbling about trifles, he is right. Thanks for the post.
