Saint Callinique always stood out to me because Gangres is where my wife's great-uncle served as a priest for a while back in the 60s. The way these early martyrs just held firm under pressure makes you think twice about the little complaints we have today. Thanks for posting the old and new dates side by side, it's helpful.

Ο Άγιος Καλλίνικος από τα Γάγγρα πάντα μου έκανε εντύπωση. Ο πατέρας της γυναίκας του Nicholas είχε υπηρετήσει εκεί ιερέας τη δεκαετία του ’60, λέει· εγώ θυμάμαι που πήγαμε με την παρέα του ποδοσφαίρου πριν χρόνια σε προσκύνημα στα μέρη της Παφλαγονίας και περάσαμε από εκεί. Οι μάρτυρες αυτοί δεν γκρίνιαζαν για ψιλοπράγματα, σωστά το λέει. Ευχαριστούμε για την ανάρτηση.
