Today is July 25 according to the new calendar. I remember that Saint Hilarion was from near Ankara, and I was reading about him two years ago in a book about the first martyrs. May God bless their memory.

Yes, today is July 25th according to the new style. It is interesting that Saint Hilarion was a martyr near Ancyra, as Hannah wrote. I also once saw his life in a collection about early Christians, about how he and Proclus refused to sacrifice to the pagan gods. May their memory be with us.

Yeah, 25 July new style for us too. Interesting how both Hilarion and Proclos refused to sacrifice to the pagan gods right there near Ancyre – that bit about them in the early martyrs book stuck with me as well. Their memory be eternal.
