Степан Попов Thank you, Rumyana, now it’s clear. The photo clearly shows how the brickwork on the dome is darker at the edges, as if from old soot. I wonder if it's open on weekdays.

Ana Munteanu Thanks to Rumyana for the clarification. I heard that at St. Constantine and Helena there is a small gathering every Friday morning after the 8 o'clock service.

Rebecca Parker The brickwork on that dome does look darker round the edges. I read that the small agiasma font inside is still used for blessings most Fridays after the 8 o'clock service.

Helen Anderson The small agiasma font is right by the side entrance. I think they still fill it fresh from the spring every Friday before the morning service.

Veronika Nováková This is the old brick dome, you can see traces of repairs from the 19th century. The brickwork looks pretty solid, but the darker joints on top would need new mortar.

Κώστας Χατζής This church also has a small well with holy water that comes out from under the sanctuary. Romania has many such ancient springs inside churches.
