☦ Moldovica – Bukovina, Romania Moldovita Monastery (Romanian: Mânăstirea Moldovita) is a Romanian Orthodox monastery located in the commune of Vatra Moldovita, Suceava County, Moldova, Romania. The Moldovita Monastery was built in 1532 by Peter Rares, the illegitimate son of Stephen III of Moldova. It was founded as a protective barrier against Muslim Ottoman conquerors from the East. Gheorghe Munteanu Moldova is dedicated to Saint George, as it says on the wall at the entrance. That brick so straight belongs to their old technique from 1532, not yesterday.
