The Romanian Orthodox Church has sent a medical caravan into remote villages of the Suceava region, offering free check-ups, medicines and basic care to families who rarely see a doctor. In the same spirit of quiet service, the Serbian Orthodox Church saw Metropolitan Atanasije celebrate the Liturgy at Beška monastery, while the Church of Greece marked the feast of the Holy Unmercenaries at the historic monastery on Parnon with prayerful crowds. From the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, news arrived that a small home church dedicated to the Kyiv Caves Fathers was consecrated on Corfu.
These stories show local Churches stepping into ordinary needs without fanfare. The caravan doctors treat elderly patients in their own kitchens and pray with them before leaving for the next village. Metropolitan Chariton of the Romanian Church also spoke recently about new parishes in Congo that began from chance meetings, reminding everyone that real work often starts small. The same pattern repeats across borders.
Practical help and steady prayer keep appearing where they are most needed.
