The Romanian Orthodox Church is offering free family tours of Văcărești Natural Park just outside Bucharest this month. Local clergy hope the outings will let parents and children discover the wetlands, birds, and quiet paths together while learning basic care for God’s creation. In Serbia the Monastery of Duži marked its patronal feast with the usual crowded liturgy and long tables of food afterward. Metropolitan Amvrosy of Tver consecrated the new pilgrim hostel at Staritsa Sloboda on the Volga, giving travelers a clean place to rest before visiting the ancient monasteries nearby. Bishop Lucian of Caransebeș quietly celebrated his name day with his small cathedral choir and a handful of parishioners in the Banat region. From a different corner, teachers connected to Saint-Serge in Paris joined an international gathering that looked back at the 2016 Holy and Great Council and its fruits ten years later. These modest steps, whether a nature walk, a new guesthouse, or a simple name-day lunch.
Yesterday there was a trace of work, kneading dough, for prosphora, for week-long service. Stana meko, kakto tryabva, and tazi sutrin gi opekoh in kuhanta – 40 broya izlyazokha. Sega wearing the gi to the church, the wife mi kaza and not taking away the gi pokriya from pure kurpa.

Georgian Orthodox Church leaders highlighted how Orthodoxy has preserved the spiritual life of the Georgian people for centuries. In Romania, Patriarch Daniel sent a message marking 1700 years since Christianity became the state religion in Georgia, while Metropolitan Dimitrios of France spoke of Saint Paraskeva uniting Orthodox peoples across the Balkans. The Polish Orthodox Church observed the Feast of the Protection of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Radom with traditional services, and the Bulgarian Orthodox Church received government funds to restore frescoes in the church at Vidin. These coordinated observances across distant dioceses show how shared feasts and historical memory keep local traditions alive. This matters because it quietly strengthens the common thread that holds Orthodox communities together in daily practice.
