A delegation from the Ukrainian Orthodox Church has arrived in Georgia to mark the 1700th anniversary of the country’s adoption of Christianity at the state level. The visit brings together clergy and faithful for joint services and talks that underline long-standing ties between the two Churches. In Bulgaria the faithful are preparing to open a new parish church dedicated to Saint Petka in the village of Glavatsi, while Metropolitan of Plovdiv recently met President Iliana Iotova to discuss Church life in the country. The Orthodox Church in America remembered the tenth anniversary of the repose of Fr Alexander Pihach with quiet services of prayer, and the Church of Greece observed the feast of Saint Philip, one of the seven deacons, with special liturgies across several dioceses. May the shared witness of these communities strengthen bonds of faith and love among the Orthodox peoples.
The Serbian monastery of Davidovica marked its ktitor feast with a solemn celebration attended by hundreds of faithful. In the same week, the Bulgarian Orthodox Church opened a new parish church of Sveta Petka in the village of Glavatsi, while another Bulgarian monastery, the Kurilski St John of Rila, hosted an archierarchal liturgy. The Church of Greece presented awards to large families and outstanding students in Edessa, and the Romanian Orthodox Church heard Patriarch Daniel remind the faithful that a pure heart makes the word of God fruitful. From different corners of the Orthodox world these quiet acts of building, remembering founders, and teaching the next generation continue steadily. May these communities and their labors be remembered in prayer.
OCA Bishop Andrei spent time with young people at a Canadian Romanian parish, joining conversations that mixed everyday questions with deeper matters of faith. The visit highlighted how local communities keep bridging generations without fanfare. Meanwhile the Bulgarian Orthodox Church prepares to open the new Sveta Petka church in the village of Glavatsi, another quiet step in parish growth. In Greece, a deacon was ordained in Nea Ionia, adding fresh clergy to the local Church. The Macedonian Orthodox Church – Ohrid Archbishopric saw Metropolitan Georgij meet with representatives of the Macedonian Biblical Association and the Orthodox Youth group in Vranishka parish, focusing on practical ways to support young believers. These small gatherings and openings show steady work across very different corners of the Orthodox world. The Assembly of Bishops in the United States also approved a sign-language lexicon and kept moving forward with a shared catechism project. Such ordinary efforts continue.
Metropolitan Georgij of the Macedonian Orthodox Church met with representatives of the Bible Society during a visit to the Vranishka parish and its Orthodox youth group. The gathering focused on Scripture engagement among younger believers. Meanwhile, the Serbian Orthodox Church celebrated the patronal feast at the Davidovica monastery with traditional services, while the Bulgarian Orthodox Church held an archierarchal liturgy at the St. John of Rila monastery in Kurelo. In Greece, Bishop Seraphim of Karystias ordained a new elder at the church in Marmari, Karystos. These moments show steady parish life continuing across jurisdictions. May these communities be held in prayer.
