Σόφιας 6 – Θεσσαλονίκη – TK 546 22 Preface to the Greek edition by His Eminence Metropolitan Anthimus of Thessaloniki With particular interest I read this book, published through the efforts of the Spiritual Center of the Cathedral Church of the Holy Thessalonian Metropolis. This Spiritual Center is a special project of Orthodox missionary activity, addressed to young men and women, the spiritual children of our Church. This missionary project is carried out under the spiritual responsibility of His Very Reverend Archimandrite Methodius (Alexiou), rector of the Cathedral Church of St. Gregory Palamas in Thessaloniki. This mission project began eight years ago. Our humility prompted Father Methodius (Alexiou), with whom we discussed this issue and together decided to create a special parish program as part of our pastoral work with youth. This program began and continues with the blessing and Providence of our Savior Jesus Christ and the prayers of our heavenly intercessor, the great Father of our Church, St. Gregory Palamas, Archbishop and Patron of the Church of Thessaloniki. With the favor and grace of the Archpastor of the Lord Jesus Christ, this youth program in the hospitable walls of our Spiritual Parish Center turned out to be successful and it constantly continues in the same direction, to the glory of the Lord. One of the fruits of this project is this publication, which was published through the efforts of Archimandrite Methodius (Alexiu). This book contains excerpts from the sermons and writings of St. Gregory Palamas, translated into modern modern Greek. These texts contain the deepest spiritual meaning, and they lead to an understanding of the blessings of the Holy God, awareness of our responsibility for our own souls and to the implementation of our spiritual efforts so that each of us achieves the great result - the salvation of our souls. Theological thought, the deepest mind, the Christ-centered path, the dignity of virtues, chaste purity, humility, hope and all other grace-filled gifts of human existence are given to us from the holy hands of St. Gregory Palamas, who in turn received them in the boundless heavenly Paradise during his prayers.
