We are all brothers with each other, because we all come from the One Father and Creator. Only we are created in the image of God. Also, we all come from one earthly father - Adam. In addition, we all live in one place and we have one common Mother - the Church. The Head of the Church and the Perfecter is Christ, the True Son of God. And He is not only God to us, He Himself wanted to be also our Brother and Father. When He appeared to the women who came to His tomb after His three-day resurrection from the dead, He said to them: “Go, tell My brothers, so that they go to Galilee, and there they will see Me” (Matthew 28:10). The Apostle Paul writes: “Just as the children share in flesh and blood, He also took part in the same, so that by death He might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil” (Heb. 2:14). We were all baptized into one Body by the grace of the Holy Spirit. We have one faith, we have one hope in the One God, Who with His love gathers us around Himself, making us all members of Himself and each other. Unfortunately, through the action of the evil one, indifference and sometimes even hatred appear among us. Love is gone. Now we have stopped communicating with each other and are becoming hostile towards each other. It is for this reason that internecine confrontations, confusion and unrest arise. We live in the same city and at the same time become enemies to each other. If a person from the outside looked at our city, he would think that it had been captured by enemies! Many roam around the city and destroy houses, plunder property that does not belong to them, with a frantic frenzy they drag homeowners onto the streets and attack them with murderous and inhumane intentions. What madness! And who will measure the degree of our wretchedness? Our city is at war with itself and destroys itself with its own hands! Noble people fell silent from fear, while vile and evil people took possession of everything!.. Don't be upset by what you hear because I'm telling you the truth. And I tell you this so that you realize what kind of weakness has taken possession of us, so that you search and find its cause. I am trying to help you so that you want to be healed, so that you strive for this healing and, having received it, keep it. After all, for what reason have you lost love for your neighbors and for God? For no other reason than the fact that you, being prone to sin, chose sin. The Lord says in the Gospel that due to the increase of lawlessness, the love of many will grow cold (Matthew 24:12). However, when love completely cools down, both the grace of God and His care for us retreat from us. To make it clearer, I will give you this comparison. The soul of each of us is like an oil lamp. The oil that burns in this lamp is doing good, its wick is love. At the top of love, like a burning flame, the grace of the Holy Spirit rests. When the lamp runs out of oil, that is, when a person stops doing good, love, which is likened to a wick in the lamp of the soul, cools and the fire goes out. In the same way, the fire and light of God’s grace goes out in people who have driven love away from themselves. Temptations and confusion among us come from what God has turned away from His face. We ourselves chose sin. For this reason, we are overwhelmed by internecine strife and unrest. The leader of evil also has a hand in this, who tries to make animals out of people, tries to make them acquire a demonic disposition, rebelling against the Life-Giver Christ and resisting Him. So return to the path of the Gospel of Christ! Let unanimity always reign among you - then the Lord will return to us. Only then will He rest on you along with the peace and grace of the Holy Spirit. We come to you as representatives before Christ, because He comforts you with our participation. Make peace with God. Realize that you are related to each other not only in spirit, but also in the flesh. Do not think evil and never wish to repay evil for evil. Conquer evil with good and love each other with all your hearts in order to acquire Divine love. Those who do not love their brothers cannot have love for God, and they themselves deprive themselves of His grace and care. Brothers, listen to my words. I preach peace to you and ask you to become my collaborators in achieving this peace. Forgive each other all kinds of accusations and become children of peace. Christ commanded His disciples - and through them, each of us - to bring and proclaim peace when entering any city or house. The Apostle Paul writes: “Pursue peace with everyone and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord” (Heb. 12:14). So we will all live in friendship, united by peace, love and harmony. Thus we will have our Lord Jesus Christ and His sweet promise among us. And then He Himself, for our sake, will resolve any difficulty in our present life and give us true and eternal life.
