АНГЕЛ ХРАНИТЕЛЬ
Machine translation from the original · Show original
Were the great ascetics protected by angels during their sleep?
A certain elder came to Abba John’s cell and found him sleeping. An angel stood near him and hovered over him. The elder saw this and left. When Abba got up, he asked his disciple: did anyone come here while I was sleeping? The student answered: such and such an old man came. And Abba John realized that this elder was equal to him in spiritual success and that he had seen an angel.
