Matthew 2:13. “When they departed, behold, the Angel of the Lord appears to Joseph in a dream and says: Arise, take the Child and His Mother and flee to Egypt, and be there until I tell you, for Herod wants to look for the Child in order to destroy Him.” “Does everyone have Guardian Angels? There are and there should be. The nature of the spirit is unusually active and cannot help but act; we see it in our souls. The nature of a good spirit necessarily seeks activity and expansion of the circle of this activity, the spread of the kingdom of truth and goodness; how, on the contrary, the nature of the evil spirit seeks corresponding activity and expansion of the kingdom of lies and all evil. That demons are trying in every possible way to spread the kingdom of evil - we feel this, experience it in ourselves, and the Holy Scripture testifies to this: the devil, like a lion, roars, walks around, looking for someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8). How can one not allow, and at the request of common sense, the truth that Angels act everywhere in the world, try to spread the kingdom of goodness and seek human salvation? Oh, the word is true that there is joy in heaven for one sinner who repents (Luke 15:7). And just as the devil is with every person, so a good Angel is also with every person. We clearly feel the presence of that one with us, and the presence of that one, although, out of pride, we are accustomed to attributing all good thoughts, feelings, dispositions, intentions to ourselves, and not to the Guardian Angel. Will there be enough Guardian Angels for every person? Enough and in abundance. When the Apostle Peter rushed with a knife at the bishop's servant - to defend his Teacher and Lord - the Lord said to him: or do you think that I cannot now pray to My Father, and He will present Me with more than twelve legions of Angels? (Matthew 26:53). This means that the Lord always has enough of them in abundance to protect every (Elisha, Jacob) person, and especially for the Son of God incarnate. It is also known that the Guardian Angel appeared to the Savior in the Garden of Gethsemane to strengthen Him (See: Luke 22:43). Angels came and served Him (Matthew 4:11) after fasting and temptation in the desert; A guardian angel appeared to Joseph in a dream and controlled his movements (See: Matt. 2:13)" [8, 57]. Matthew 2:23. “And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the prophets, that he should be called a Nazarene.” “Let what was spoken by the prophet be fulfilled (Matt. 2:23; Matt. 4:14); or: that the Scripture might be fulfilled... (John 13:18; John 17:12). Why are these expressions often used in the New Testament, especially in the Gospels? – In order to see that Jesus Christ is truly the Divine Person, the Son of God Himself, that His incarnation is the work of God - predetermined from eternity, that He is the fulfillment of the Law and the Prophets. – These expressions are also used for this purpose, in order to tangibly assure all well-intentioned and right-thinking people that in the same way all other prophecies of the Old or New Testament about Christ will certainly be fulfilled to the last iota (cf. Matthew 5:17, 18); namely, prophecies about the conversion of pagans and Jews to Christ, about the circumstances of the last time, about the Second Coming of the Son of God to earth, about the resurrection of the dead, about the future Judgment, about future bliss and future torment. – Just as all the prophecies concerning His first coming were fulfilled, so all the prophecies concerning His Second Coming will be fulfilled, because the Executor is One and the same, the EXISTING Himself (Exod. 3:14), for Whom all things are as one present” [10, 456].
