97. К епископу Вассу

What is this? You showed such love for us both in the past and recently in Constantinople, but now, hearing that we have become neighbors with your honesty, you will not honor us even with a letter! Or am I not sure to what extent we are disposed to your reverence and how closely we are connected with you by ties of friendship? And I expected that you yourself would come here and console us in our sad desert. Indeed, what could be more desolate than Kukuz, which, not to mention the desolation of its location, is constantly under siege from the attack of the Isaurians? But if traveling to us is not an easy task, both due to the fear of these robbers and the difficulty of the road itself, then don’t make it a labor to at least write to us and please us with news about your health, in order to give us great consolation in this way in our life on a foreign side. The paragraphs in the text were arranged by us. – Editorial staff of “ABC of Faith” You might be interested in:
