But since the desolation of the place in which we live and its distance from the main road do not allow us to do this, I sincerely ask you to forgive us if we do not do this often, and whether we write or remain silent, to have the same opinion about our love for you, in full confidence that our silence, often very long, comes from the desolation of the place, and not from our negligence.
