I would like to see you, and neither the fear induced by the Isaurians nor the weakness of my health would prevent me if I were allowed to move at will, wherever I want; but, although you are free to do so, I am not calling you here, and I am not asking you to leave the house and come to us. Although the time of year allows this, and the trip is not long (because a short distance separates us), for all that, I do not dare to drag you here out of fear for you on the part of the Isaurians. Instead, I ask you to constantly write to us about your health; in this regard, attacks by robbers, of course, can no longer serve as an obstacle to you.
