The very state of affairs, louder than any trumpet, speaks everywhere about your commendable zeal and that lively zeal to defend the truth, which neither the vastness of distance, nor the length of time, nor the unparalleled persistence of those possessed by incurable blindness, and nothing else could destroy or weaken in you. For our part, we also testify to your great gratitude in every case and constantly bless you for the crowns that you have earned for yourself through this good deed from the man-loving God. We'd love to see you in person. But since this is impossible with the bonds of exile holding us back, using the services of my lord, the most honest and reverent presbyter, we write to you with him and, sending due greetings, inform you that you have kindled ardent love for yourself in the entire East and have acquired so many devoted admirers that there is no number of people who share with you your just indignation at the iniquities that have been committed. We ask you to maintain your previous zeal until the end. You yourself know how many crowns you will acquire in this way, with these temporary and fleeting labors preparing for yourself abundant and immortal rewards from the man-loving God.
