The similarity between genus and property is that both genus and property follow species, i.e. it is said about them that both the genus and the property coincide in scope with their subject; that both gender and property are expressed synonymously. The difference between genus and property is that genus affects many species, while property affects one; that property allows treatment with species, but genus does not; that a property belongs to only one species, but a genus not only to one.
