And through our humility 2864 punishment, is anyone among you not in obedience to the abbot to live, like that lazy and disobedient slave, whom his master carried across the right river, as if in a dream the creature was joyful and intoxicated with the honor of his master: and so I remained in disobedience to him, sleeping in his village, and going up among the thorns, and the iceman covered him, and then during the torture he overcame him, but not a single answer was possible for that slave to repay against his master’s good deeds, and thus he was condemned for his evil deeds. And you, even if, through the statutory regulations of the monastic custom, you do something contrary to the divine and sacred rules, you will begin to destroy that lovely monastery: and I commanded your abbot (name) to punish him, with knowledge before his brethren, both spiritually and healingly; and if he does not listen to this, he will be ejected from the monastery, like a destroyer and a predator, even a destroyer of the law of God: the current one, as if he had become mad, has cast himself out of the flock of Christ, not wanting to remain in a union of spiritual love, and not having humbled his soul, and being exalted in his pride, will humble himself. And what is its contents, otherwise it will be taken away from it for the needs of the monastery, and let the greatness be taken away. The manuscript is missing a page.
