Uvarov No. 512 (formerly Tsarskogo No. 366), l. 379 vol.–183; It was published, according to another list, in the first volume of Historical Acts under No. 60, with reference to 1455–1461. In this edition, the document is assigned to 1461 for the reason that it mentions a joint embassy to the Grand Duke from Novgorod and Pskov, which took place in 1461. Among the Pskov ambassadors, whom the local chronicle calls by name, there was no sedate mayor Yuri Timofeevich; and the message is addressed, by the way, to the name of this mayor (Cf. Pol. Collected Let. vol. IV, p. 221). According to your sons, the original great faith of your Orthodoxy, and the great love and good submission and obedience to God and to the Church of God, and according to the zeal of each of you, we pray to the lover of mankind and the holy life-giving Trinity, and the most pure Mother of God, our holy Lady Theotokos and Ever-Virgin Mary 2839, and to all the saints of God, may you receive from the Almighty and lover of God and His Most Pure Mother of God grace and mercy and a hundredfold reward, temporarily and in the future, long-term health and life 2840, and a peaceful stay, and a motionless dispensation 2841, according to your desire from God and according to your rightness, as you each live according to your own Christianity, as it went with you 2842, your good old days, from Grand Duke Alexander. And what do you, sons, send to the great ruler, and to our son, to your stepfather and grandfather, to the Grand Duke Vasily Vasilyevich 2843, from your brother 2844 the oldest of Veliky Novgorod grew up with the Novgorod and their Pskov ambassadors about which and zemstvo affairs: and that to you, our children, from your ambassadors 2845 all it will be known. And you, sons, also in your Orthodoxy, would have natural faith in God and in the Church of God. And in that way, sons, they cried to our son, and to their stepfather and grandfather, to the Grand Duke, and in that way they ruled about everything to him and stood in that; and our son, the Grand Duke, comes to you, to his fatherland, and keeps his salary according to the same old times, about everything. And we, sons, bless all of you, our children, from the greatest to the smallest. Moreover, we remind you of this, and many times: have, sons, your most honorable faith in God, according to your Orthodoxy, from the bottom of your heart, 2847 and for the holy churches of God and for the holy spiritual superiors and for the entire priesthood, also have spiritual love and submission; and sons, there would be no disagreement among you in the churches of God and in the Orthodox Christian faith. 2848 And when, son, about our humility which is from the divine scriptures, about what these things will be, you demand words, and you send to us about it, remembering us; and our humility, having prayed to God and His Most Pure Mother of God, according to God’s great love for mankind, and according to your faith that God and His Most Pure Mother of God reward us, looking at the holy and sacred rules and the divine holy scriptures of the law, and we want to write about this to you to our children, with which God, in His mercy, and according to our sufficiency, will enlighten us. And you, sons, would also have us as your father, and you would not keep us in the dark about your health and your stay. And to you, sons, to all the priests, blessing you, we remember the same thing, so that you may have constant care for your priesthood, how powerful it is, [and] for your flock, according to the Lord speaking 2850 words: “to him, he said, much will be given, and much will be required of him,” so that they would not be condemned before God, so that they would be able to do it before the Lord God Each one of us said: “Behold, I am the children whom God will give.” And may the grace of God 2851 be in everything and mercy, and the prayer of our humility and blessing always be with your stay and with all your Orthodox Christianity.
