Message from the Metropolitan to Lithuania, to the boyars and lords who stand for the Holy Church of God and for our Orthodox faith in Christ Blessing of Jonah 2770, Metropolitan of Kyiv and All Rus', to the boyars and panams (name). 2771 Our hearing, sons, that because of your great faith in God and in the Church of God, and in our humility, you have great faith, and you also have great care for all our great Orthodoxy and stand for Christianity; that some things are going on with you, and as we hear, that you stand firm about this: and about this, sons, I believe in Christ my Master, that from the Almighty and Lover of Mankind, the merciful God, I will receive a hundredfold reward, now temporarily, and especially in the future and never-ending century, all the good things prepared for those who have pleased the terrible Judge and Master, to the all-merciful God. And in advance, of course, sons, we would have taken every care in every possible way about the Church of God and about all Orthodox Christianity, as the all-merciful God will instruct you, remembering that previous legal provision, which was accepted, established at all the seven holy councils: having sought it out, they finished it off and confirmed it with their firm writings, and they swore with oaths, saying: “If anyone adds or lays down anything from what has been laid down by the Holy Fathers, and if an angel proclaims such things, let him be anathema,” reksha, from the holy seven councils, let all those holy Fathers be cursed. And you, sons, would send your letters with the local noble and pious Russian princes, also with your brothers, with the boyars and lords, and with all of our Orthodox Christianity, and would naturally, sons, stand for the holy Church of God and for our Orthodox faith in Christ, and had great consideration and reasoning about how God will help you. And I, my sons, in accordance with my holy duty, so powerfully, I pray to God that the Almighty Lord God, in advance to you, my children, will give strength and strength to that great cause of God and all Christianity; dear, son, and I myself would be glad to go to that great work of God, God visited me with weakness, and for this sake I have now sent to you, to my children, and to the princes and lords, and to all Orthodox Christians, with their spiritual punishment, honest abbots from the most honorable monasteries [Trinity Abbot Basian of the honest monastery of Sergius Monastery and Cyril Monastery of the honest elder Kasian] 2772, with his great spiritual deeds to you; and what, sons, those honest elders, abbots Basian and Kasian 2773, have to say to you from us, they would naturally believe everything, as they do to us ourselves, since the essence of our words was sent with them. This name shows that the original message was addressed to certain persons, whose names were omitted in the list of the synodal collection, as a form book. The names of abbots in the synodal list are replaced by the usual name in the forms; but they were preserved in the list of the act issued below under No. 86, from where the one in brackets was taken.
