From the manuscript of Count A.S. Uvarov No. 512 (formerly Tsarskogo No. 366), l. 225; It was published based on the same manuscript in the first volume of Historical Acts under No. 256.
Blessing of Photius, Metropolitan of All Rus', to all priestly and monastic ranks, and to every Orthodox rank and age. We know that from the beginning of the authorities, every evil trick and allowance is from the adversary of the enemy of the devil on the human race, and moreover, the deceits and many snares that are brought upon the human race, by murder and tatbas and other such abominations alienated to God, and with all such things the human soul creates far from God and falls into the ditch of destruction: and behold, from there, from ancient times, we know, by the great trick of that common enemy the devil, for the sake of delicacy, our forefather Adam was brought into disobedience and expelled from paradise; the same enemy again with networks and deceits and Cain moved to kill Abel; and for this reason the same adversary of the enemy, by the cunning of Judas, was excommunicated from the face of the apostle and brought into his betrayal, hedgehog, for the love of money, sold the Creator of heaven and earth to the Jews: and to this day his nets are numerous, pierced against the Christian race, excommunicating the human soul with all sorts of delights and abominations.
And so now, through snares and occupation and trickery, stealing the mind of a certain person, leading that person to destruction, and for that he came to take the boldness, and to take the secret of the Church of God, and did not redeem or lead many who were tortured. And oh seven, for our humility, with prayer and blessing, we write this: whoever takes that treasure, let him not despise the one who weeps for it, and I bless, let it be cast down in the Church of God and without any shame; If he begins to neglect this scripture of ours and does not overthrow, and I am humble, having the power from the Holy Spirit to knit and decide, I have him under the prohibition and burden of the church and excommunication, under his unblessing until then the stolen acquisition will overthrow the one who weeps for him and will return to the one who destroyed 2433, and thus will receive mercy from the Lord God and his most pure Mother, and from our humility is freedom, allowing forgiveness for our evil deeds.
From these words we can conclude that we are talking about the theft of not a church treasure, but a private treasure placed in the church for safekeeping.
