With my brow, son, your father spiritually attacked you, but he says that you do not live in obedience to him, do not come to him for repentance, do not accept the holy gifts from him, do not come to the Church of God without being called Christians; also, do not hold honor over him: otherwise, sons, you are contrary to the church of God and the divine and sacred rules, being like stone-hearted and hardened by the devil, without being called, like Christians. And I bless you that you may naturally live in obedience to him in all his spiritual punishments; and also, naturally, they would stand close to the Church of God and honor him, being like true great existing Orthodox Christians, believers in our Lord Jesus Christ; but you do not have to live as I am writing to you, being like stone-hearted people, hardened by the devil, not obeying your shepherd and teacher, your spiritual father in everything: and I cannot lay down this for you with the law of God and the divine sacred rules, as he commands us. They gave birth to you, but can you give birth to me?” And the Tributary says: “Honor your father and mother, he himself will rejoice over his children, and he who glorifies his father and mother will create long days and cleanse his sins: for the father’s blessing establishes the homes of the children, but the mother’s oath will eradicate the foundation.” And I would, son, write to you a lot from the divine scripture, but I hope in God’s mercy that you yourself know from the divine scripture, and for this reason I write briefly to you, remembering your Orthodoxy, so that you will come to your senses and into all-soul repentance with pure hearts. And how, sons, do you manage with your mother, and our daughter, and you write to us: and we want to pray to God for you, out of our hierarchical duty, and out of your pure repentance to God.
