The monk not only refused to do this, but also reproached the king for his wickedness. For his firmness in Orthodoxy, the Monk Stephen accepted many torments and prison bonds; then he was exiled to prison, and here, having reached extreme exhaustion from suffering and illness, the Monk Stephen departed to Christ God 2241, for whose sake he endured many torments and accepted death.
