One beggar, who came to the blessed Savin for alms and received food and everything he needed from his hands, taking the example of Judas the traitor, came to the pagans and said: - What will you give me so that I can show you who you are looking for, Savina? They gave him two gold coins from 1960. Then they followed him, reached the house where the saint lived, surrounded him and knocked on the door. At this time there were six Christians with Saint Savin. Thinking that it was one of the brothers who had come, they opened the door of the house. Then the pagans quickly entered the house, took everyone and tied them up. Saint Savin was tied especially tightly - with two heavy chains, and then they brought him to trial before the hegemon of that country, named Arian. Saint Savin was questioned for a long time at his trial and many times forced to make sacrifices to idols. But he did not reject Christ. As a result of this, he was tortured even more cruelly, he was tormented with a sharp iron, burned with fire. Finally the saint was drowned in the river in 1961. Thus, the saint completed his feat of 1962 and went to the Hero of Christ to receive from Him the crown of victory. The other six Christians taken with him were also tortured along with him; and they were awarded from the Lord in heaven the same glory as Savin.
