Without patience you cannot build a tower, and without knowledge you will not succeed in virtue. Sin guards the mind and closes the door of knowledge. Be guided by the knowledge of the Lord in your actions - and you will not get entangled in the snares of the devil. It is the devil’s habit to do evil through good. Just as the soul by nature has an inclination towards the beautiful and strives to lust for the best, so the hostile area of ​​sin, with extreme cunning to eclipse real goods, presents to simple souls a dreamy image of goods. That is why the inscrutable love of God’s grace in the inspired scriptures teaches us the knowledge of the truth, according to the word of him who said: Teach me goodness, good behavior and knowledge (Ps. 119:66), so that in this way we may come to a state that will help us eliminate from ourselves the cause of all evil - ignorance. Then, guided by the light of true knowledge, having realized that knowledge of the truth is the cause of salvation, we would be able to completely expel from ourselves the carnal and unreasonable wisdom established in us by the insidious promise of knowledge.
