ДЕНЬ РОЖДЕНИЯ

The birth of a person into the world is a subject of joy, because each new birth is an expansion of being and life and, as it were, a new, visual, tangible proof of the all-good Providence of God for creatures or the omnipotence, wisdom and goodness of the Creator towards us, who once said to the primordial couple: “be fruitful and multiply” (Gen. 1:28). The birth of man into the world is a subject of especially great joy because man is an excellent, majestic creation of God on earth in His image and likeness, destined for eternal life in the bright abodes of Heaven, although fallen and corrupted by sin, for this fallen creature is restored, corrupted is renewed by the Son of God incarnate. And hence the highest reason for joy on the birthdays of a Christian man is that he who is born of a wife is soon reborn by a higher, spiritual, heavenly, mysterious birth by water and the Spirit, through which he is adopted by God, becomes a member of the Church of Christ and an heir to the Heavenly Kingdom. And we all usually try to meet and spend birthdays and especially namesake days, the day of spiritual birth - these days of God’s immeasurable goodness to us, in which we saw this light and were numbered among the Church of the firstborn - in special joy (8).
